These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Health Keepers Academy website, learning platform, courses, and related services (together, the "Academy"). By creating or using an account, or by browsing the Academy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Academy.
1About the academy
Health Keepers Academy is an online learning initiative of the Rotary Club of Health Keepers. The learning platform is operated with technology provided by Care IT Solutions USA. In these Terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Health Keepers Academy.
2Education, not medical advice
Academy content is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not medical, nursing, legal, or other professional advice, and it does not create a clinician–patient relationship. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional about any health condition or clinical decision. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
3Accounts
3.1Accounts are issued by the Academy or by an organization that has arranged access for its members. Public self-registration may be unavailable.
3.2You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
3.3You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
3.4Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred.
3.5We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that poses a security risk, or where the arranging organization ends its access.
4Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share patient records, identifiable clinical information about other people, or payment card numbers in course activities, discussions, or messages;
- upload content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, discriminatory, or that infringes anyone's rights;
- copy, redistribute, sell, or publicly share course materials except as the Academy expressly allows;
- attempt to access accounts, courses, or data you are not authorized to access, or interfere with the security or operation of the Academy;
- use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download content;
- misrepresent your identity, your affiliation, or your credentials.
5Courses, assessments, and academic integrity
5.1Course availability, content, schedules, and access terms are described on each course page and may change.
5.2Assessments must be completed by you, without unauthorized help. We may withhold or revoke a completion record or certificate obtained through dishonest means.
6Certificates and credentials
6.1A completion certificate confirms that you completed an Academy course as recorded on the platform. Unless a course page expressly states otherwise, it is not a professional licence, diploma, degree, or continuing professional development (CPD) credit.
6.2Any CPD units or other credit-bearing recognition are offered only when formally approved by the relevant authority and clearly stated for that specific course.
6.3Certificates can be checked through the Academy's certificate verification page.
7Fees, payments, and donations
7.1Where a course carries a fee, the price and currency are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers under their own terms.
7.2Refunds, if any, are handled according to the terms stated for the course or program at the time of purchase, and as required by applicable law.
7.3Online donations are accepted only when the Academy has announced that they are open. Donation terms and acknowledgements will be shown at the time of giving.
8Intellectual property
The Academy, its courses, and its materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to access the courses available to your account for your own learning. Content you submit remains yours, but you grant us the rights needed to host, display, assess, and back it up to operate the Academy.
9Third-party services and links
The Academy may link to or embed third-party services, such as video hosting, sign-in providers, or payment providers. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices, which are governed by their own terms.
10Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep the Academy available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Academy, including courses, with reasonable notice where practical.
11Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Academy is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for any decision made or action taken in reliance on educational content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information. It forms part of these Terms.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version and its effective date are always shown on this page. Continued use of the Academy after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Philippines, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
15Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to us through the contact options listed on the Academy's Help Center page.
